I’m a reporter-turned-photographer. About 15 years ago, I got my first job out of college as a small town newspaper reporter. Staffing was tight, so they put a camera in my hands and said, “You’re your own photographer. Good luck!” Taking pictures that will be on the front page of the paper? With my name under them? Whoa!

But that was the beginning of my passion for photography. I started out on full manual mode with no idea what I was doing. But my photos weren’t bad. I learned, hey, I’m good at this. I learned about my camera and soon purchased one for myself. I started taking pictures of my friends and realized, hey, I’m good at this, too! And over the years, I’ve learned more and more, about equipment, lighting, posing, to be able to provide you the least awkward and most fun photo sessions!

I know, it can be awkward to get in front of the camera. It’s my goal to make it as fun and comfortable as possible, sowe can create stunning images that will be memories for generations. And not just memories, but tangible pieces of artwork that can be displayed in your home and physically passed down from generation to generation. These pieces of art can not only decorate your home but empower your teenage daughter, make your little boy feel loved, wrap you in all the warm fuzzies when you see your sweet little fur-baby. And unlike the expensive couch you just bought, these investments only get more valuable with time. Because this moment is fleeting -- those little baby teeth and sassy pre-teen smile only last for a short period of time!

I have been a digital file photographer in the past, but I realized I was not serving my clients well. Most of my work stayed on people's phones or social media accounts. They didn't have the time to put together an album or select framing options, get it ordered and picked up. And not only that, but they didn't know how to manage color correction for print, exposure and white balance. Printing at the convenient store down the street resulted in dark, poor quality prints that I wasn't proud of. I want to change that. I hope that you can enjoy a beautiful portrait of your family now and then gift it to your now 5-year-old boy on his wedding day, with a special note you write on the back of the canvas today. It's something your great-great granddaughter can look at and feel the love of her family ties, a sense of belonging, and wonder what your life was like.
